Through Every Chapter

There's something so incredbly special about being invited into a family's life/story, not once but over and over again. As a photographer, there's no greater compliment than to be invited back each year or with every major milestone. There's a bond between me and each family that I meet, and I feel so privileged and honored.

Alot of times, it starts with a wedding or a maternity session. This is usually when I first initially meet a couple and help plan their life changing moment. Couples are often anxious, excited, and have so much anticipation. We've all been there, and my goal as a photographer is to create a comfort and safe enviornment. I'm big on capturing the emotion and the details that tell a story and shows the love that's created this event. I capture the way they hold each other a little closer, the way they look into each other's eyes with hope of the future and curiosity.

Next comes the newborn stage. These sessions are slower, never timed, and are stressfree on baby and family. We take breaks, we chat, I hold and rock baby, allow for mom to nap if she wants. I look for the small detail of tiny fingers, crinkled feet, puckered sleeping lips, and baby yawns. Sessions are both offered in studio and in home. Being trusted to document those first days is something I never take lightly.

But what makes this journey truly meaningful is when I see those same families again.

A year later, that once newborn baby is now learning to walk and talk. A few years later, they're learning to run, laugh, and develop a personality. We have so much fun being silly at our photo sessions. We play games and explore, so that it's not just a stiff dull photograph. Candid family moments, where I capture the hugs of little arms wrapping around their mother's leg, being thrown up into the air by a father with such thrill in their faces, and true belly laughter that echoes even through the photo itself. And then comes the moment, when they tell me they're expecting again. Another chapter, and another blessing.

With each new baby, families grow with confidence and love. Parents are more relaxed, set into a routine, siblings step into new roles. I get to witness and document not just an addition to the family, but the evolution of an entire family.

There's something deeply personal about being a consistent photographer through these milestones. I'm not just a photographer, but a friend that has a geniune care for these families. I know at this point, who is shy at first, who brings the energy, who needs a little time extra to warm up, or who loves being in front of the camera. These sessions are more relaxed and authentic because they already know me and trust me.

These aren't just photo sessions, they are pieces of your story. YOUR story, YOUR legacy.

Years from now, these images will be looked back on. All of the emotions and memories will come back as you reflect on the chaos, the joy, the growth, and the love that created this life.
